Rotary Club of Newport

Rotarians are business and professional leaders who take an active role in their communities while also enriching their personal and professional lives. The Rotary Club of Newport members are a diverse group of professional leaders from the community.

 

Rotarians are service minded, and we work to improve our local and global communities. Among our many community service projects, we are known for the several thousands of dollars we provide in scholarships to Newport resident graduating seniors every year.  We also provide support and contributions to a variety of local organizations including Boys and Girls club of Newport County, Newport Public Library, Martin Luther King Center, Salvation Army, Newport String Project and others.  Our service efforts support the improvement of literacy as well as projects in education, youth service, and health initiatives.

We work both locally and globally because we believe that the world is our community.  We recently worked to send equipment to NICU in country in need and we have sponsored international high school students from Argentina, Chile, Germany, Belgium, and France.

Our international motto is "Service Above Self".  We have found great personal satisfaction in our blend of service and fellowship.

We meet the first and third Tuesday at lunch and we keep our meetings short, fun and educational.  Our speakers present timely and informative programs.
